Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 October 2026
This policy explains what information Jyotishya ("we", "us") collects when you use jyotishya.app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. By using the site you agree to this policy.
1. Information we collect
- Phone number — used to create your account, log you in, and connect your consultation call. If you log in by sending us a WhatsApp message, we use your WhatsApp number from that message to log you in.
- Wallet and payment records — recharge amounts, Razorpay payment IDs, call charges and your running balance. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details; those are handled entirely by Razorpay.
- Call records — the time, duration, status and charge of each consultation, plus our telephony provider's call reference. We do not record the audio of your calls.
- Your WhatsApp choice — whether you agreed to receive offers and updates on WhatsApp, and when.
- Cookies — a login cookie that keeps you signed in, analytics cookies that show us how visitors use the site (for example, which pages they visit and where they leave), so we can improve it, and a cookie that remembers for 30 days whether you arrived from a Meta or Google ad (and the ad campaign's name), so we know which ads work. We save that on your account when you sign up.
- Session recordings — recordings of how you move through the site (pages, scrolling and taps), which help us find and fix confusing parts. Anything you type, including your phone number, and your phone number shown on screen are hidden in these recordings and never reach us.
- Basic technical logs — such as IP address and browser type, kept by our hosting provider for security and troubleshooting, and error reports that help us find and fix problems on the site.
2. How we use it
- To call you at the time you booked, connect you to the astrologer, and bill the call to your wallet.
- To credit your wallet when you recharge, and to handle refunds and disputes.
- To send you service messages on WhatsApp, such as login codes and your booking confirmation and reminder. We also send the astrologer the time and length of each booking, never your phone number.
- If you agreed to it when logging in, to send you reminders and updates on WhatsApp — for example that you still have wallet balance to use, or a request to review your call. You can stop these at any time by replying STOP, by unticking the box the next time you log in, or by emailing us.
- If you write a review after a call, to show your name, rating and review on our website once we have checked it. We never show your phone number.
- To prevent fraud and misuse, and to meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. To measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram ads, we tell Meta when someone signs up or recharges, with the phone number in a scrambled (hashed) form that cannot be read back — see section 4.
3. Your number stays private
Calls are connected through a masked virtual number. The astrologer does not see your real phone number, and you do not see theirs.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers who run parts of the service for us:
- Razorpay — payment processing
- Exotel — connecting calls
- AiSensy — sending WhatsApp messages, including login codes, and replying to the WhatsApp messages you send us
- Supabase — database hosting
- Vercel — website hosting
- PostHog — website analytics and session recordings
- Sentry — error monitoring
- Meta (Facebook/Instagram) — measuring our ads: the Meta Pixel on our website, and sign-up and recharge events with a hashed phone number
- Google Ads — measuring our ads: the Google tag on our website, and sign-up and recharge events with a hashed phone number (enhanced conversions)
Some of these providers may store or process data on servers outside India. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, for example in response to a valid order from a court or government authority.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your account and call records for as long as your account is active. We keep payment and transaction records for as long as Indian tax and accounting laws require, typically up to 8 years, even after an account is closed.
6. Your rights
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to access, correct or erase your personal data, or withdraw your consent, by emailing rohith@jyotishya.app. We may need to keep some records after an erasure request where the law requires it, as described above.
7. Security
We use HTTPS throughout the site, keep access to your data limited to what is needed to run the service, and rely on established providers for payments and storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
8. Children
This service is meant for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Grievance Officer
If you have a complaint about how your data is handled, contact our Grievance Officer, Rohith, at rohith@jyotishya.app or +91 97692 78461. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 30 days.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top of the page.
